Longtime Supporter Dr. Elaine Berkowitz Gives back to The Children's Institute Foundation
February 28, 2024
A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Elaine Berkowitz grew up down the street from The Children’s Institute and started volunteering with the organization as a teenager. As a civic leader within the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, Dr. Berkowitz feels a deep connection to The Children’s Institute and wanted to support this work through her estate plans. We are incredibly grateful for her longtime generosity and dedication to our community. When asked why she included The Children’s Institute in her legacy plans, Dr. Berkowitz shared,

“We are so lucky to have The Children's Institute in our city and what better way to show our appreciation than by contributing both now and down the road. You will get a wonderful feeling when you say you want to support The Children's Institute now and forever. Not knowing exactly what the immediate need will be when I pass, I made my bequest unrestricted. Wherever my monies go, it will certainly benefit our children. I believe in the importance of giving to charities to help them provide exceptional services for those they care for. The Children's Institute exemplifies that. I also believe in making a yearly donation while living.”
