School-based clients’ needs are best met when their symptoms are mild or moderate. Meaning they have a limited effect on daily life but require treatment when there are some changes in mood, difficulty concentrating or interacting. Or when daily life is impacted in more significant ways – lower mood, disengaged, marked differences in daily functioning and perhaps the presence of passive suicidal ideation.
Please refrain from making referrals for students experiencing severe symptoms or those who are in crisis and/or chronically absent from school.
