The Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh provides comprehensive and holistic services for children with autism and related disorders between the ages of 18 months to 21 years old. Here are four important facts to keep in mind if you’re considering ABA services for your child:
ABA is evidence-backed and scientific
ABA is clinically proven as an effective treatment for individuals with autism and related disorders. At The Children’s Institute, highly trained, master's level Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) oversee all treatments to help children prosper and grow.
Integration with family and caregivers provides a team approach
Nobody works alone! At The Children’s Institute, our ABA therapist team works closely with parents and caregivers, the family’s medical provider, therapists, and school districts to provide a collaborative approach and optimal continuity of care. A robust parent training program teaches family behavioral techniques and principles to ensure continuity at home.
Individual goals encourage quantifiable progress
At The Children’s Institute, our experts develop individualized goals that focus on areas such as improved language and communication, social/play skills, and independent living skills, all within the least restrictive environment possible.
Customized treatment is under one roof
One of the biggest benefits of the ABA program at The Children’s Institute is our commitment to continuity of care. Our ABA program brings multiple services under one roof, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavioral health, and nutrition/feeding where appropriate.
Our ABA program is currently accepting new clients to join our waitlist. Families are encouraged to visit our ABA page or call 412.420.2371 to complete a screening questionnaire to determine if our services are a good fit for your needs.
