Wholey's Count the Trout

Wholey's Count the Trout

On June 7, Wholey’s Fish Market joined The Children’s Institute’s President and CEO David Miles and Mayor Bill Peduto in ceremonially cutting the ribbon on the new fish tank area and kicking off their 5th annual Count the Trout charity contest. The contest invites kids to guess the number of trout swimming about the tanks and asks for a one-dollar donation – matched by Wholey’s – to benefit The Children’s Institute.

“By expanding and upgrading our live fish tanks, we hope to not only improve the shopping experience for our loyal customers, but to raise even more money for this amazing Pittsburgh organization, ” said Jim Wholey.

“The generous support provided by Wholey’s over the years has made so much possible for the thousands of kids and families we serve,” said David Miles. “All of us at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh are proud to have Wholey’s as a partner in our amazing work!”

Saturday’s event was covered by multiple local news stations. WTAE aired an interview with David Miles and Mayor Peduto, and WPXI and KDKA also covered the event. To watch the KDKA coverage, click here.
