Lend your voice to our most vulnerable children!

The U.S. Senate recently released its version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), a bill that will harm children covered by Medicaid. Overall, children could see their health care cut by at least $43 billion over ten years if the Senate incorporates key components of the bill that was approved by the U.S. House of Representatives in May.

Over 52% of our inpatients and 46% of our outpatients count on Medicaid for our pediatric specialty services, such as behavioral health, pain and integrative medicine, feeding and swallowing, and more.

If you share our concerns, there are three simple ways you can advocate for our Amazing Kids - and for The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh.

1. Call your U.S. Senators. Advocate for children by telling your Senators why protecting Medicaid matters to you, The Children's Institute and the children we serve. All calls are logged, which helps the Senators understand how many of their constituents feel strongly about protecting Medicaid for children. You can find your Senators' numbers here.

2. Send e-letters to your U.S. Senators. Visit the Speak Now for Kids website to enter your information and send the prewritten letter. You can also personalize the letter to share why protecting Medicaid coverage, access to care and funding for children's health is important to you.

3. Post to social media. Use social media to share why Medicaid matters - to you, The Children's Institute and our children. You can simply share our posts or create your own. Make sure to include the hashtags #KeepKidsCovered and #DontCapMyCare in all social media posts/tweets.

Thank you for lending your voice to our most vulnerable children!
