The Children's Institute Receives $30,000 Grant

On Wednesday, May 25, 2011 the Trustees of the Kennametal Foundation announced a $30,000 grant for The Nimick Family Therapeutic Garden at The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh, underwriting one of the children’s planting gardens.
The Kennametal Foundation is the first corporate sponsor to be involved with The Nimick Family Therapeutic Garden. Carlos Cardoso, Kennametal Chairman, President and CEO, said “We look forward to working closely with an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs as well as the lives of their families.”
The check presentation was followed by David Miles joining Mr. Cardoso, other representatives from Kennametal and students from The Day School in planting gerbera daisies in the Kennametal Foundation Children’s Planting Garden.
