Teen Recovering Thanks to The Children's Institute

When Russell Callen Jr. and two of his friends went camping in Hickory Township on June 30, innocent fun quickly became a tragic accident. One of the teens was holding a gun, and when it discharged, the bullet hit Russell in the forehead. He is now receiving intensive rehabilitation services at The Hospital at The Children's Institute.

"He's getting stronger every day," said Callen's mother, Dee Callen. "He's alive. He's making a recovery. It'll be a slow process, but he's still with us."
