Penguins Online Auction to Benefit CI

For the past three seasons, the wives and girlfriends of the Pittsburgh Penguins have selected a holiday project to auction off online for charity. This season, they will decorate and fill holiday gift baskets! All proceeds from the online auction will benefit The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh.
Each holiday basket is decorated and filled with items unique to each player’s interests, favorite things, hobbies or hometown. Although each gift basket is different, both in filler items and decoration, all baskets have a minimum monetary value of $75.00. In addition, each basket includes a Penguins pennant signed by that player.
The online auction will run from Friday, December 5 until noon on Friday, December 19, 2008. Once the winners of the auctions have been determined and the purchasers have been processed through Pay Pal, the gift baskets will be shipped via UPS Ground. Auction winners are responsible for the cost of shipping/handling.
