"Art Therapy with Children in Medical Settings"

Presented by:

Nina Denninger, MA, ATR-BC, LPC
Program Director, Graduate Art Therapy, Seton Hill University

Ms. Denninger will discuss the myriad of ways that art therapists can work in a medical setting, whether it be to help hospitalized children express complex, hard to articulate feelings through art and play, to give those same children constructive ways to be distracted from their pressing physical challenges or to provide a therapeutic outlet to the families and caretakers of those children. A case study will also be presented by Jody Johnson, a graduate art therapy student at Seton Hill University.
