The Outpatient scheduler will serve as an integral part of the team by providing customer service to internal and external customers on behalf of The Children’s Institute’s outpatient medical rehabilitation services. Responsible for scheduling outpatients and staff activities using computerized scheduling system. Work responsibilities strongly focus on customer service by utilizing excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and problem-solving relationship building techniques.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Outpatient Office Coordinator – Squirrel Hill
WORKERS SUPERVISED: None
EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent • College level coursework, Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or business or comparable work/education experience preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 2 years experience in a customer service environment.
• Experience with problem-solving and conflict resolution. • Experience working under deadlines and handling multiple projects/assignments concurrently. • Experience with computer technologies/software programs such as Microsoft Office, Windows, billing, or scheduling software, etc. • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills. • Accurate typing and data entry skills. • Prior experience in an office or health care setting preferred • Knowledge of managed care/health insurance products is preferred.
