The Healthcare Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for managing all strategic healthcare marketing efforts—developing and implementing communication and engagement strategies for key target audiences that build organizational reputation, and drive growth and revenue. This manager defines strategies for key target engagement and relationship activation through cross-channel communications.
Also contributes to building brand reputation, optimizing existing relationships and developing relationships with key influencers.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA)
WORKERS SUPERVISED: Volunteers; student interns; consultants and contracted service providers (agencies, writers and photographers); and other administrative staff that provide project support.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications Journalism, or a combination of relevant education and experience. Master’s Degree in business preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years experience in effective direct-to-consumer and/or business-to-business marketing communications, consumer acquisition, retention and loyalty; driving strategic communications and engagement strategies. Prior experience in healthcare communications and/or healthcare policy is preferred.
Expertise in mapping customer experience, plus an understanding of audience needs. Extensive knowledge of emerging and best practice marketing technologies and processes.
ABILITIES NEEDED: Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project management skills. Good interpersonal skills –ability to work closely and effectively with people including both internal and external customers. Must have successful track record of managing large projects under tight deadlines and within budget. Demonstrated ability to lead, teach, train and manage cross-functional teams.
