JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, implements, and promotes the multi-faceted development program at The Children’s Institute, including annual giving, planned giving, estates, and bequests—with a special emphasis on major gifts. This key leader is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors, development of overall fundraising strategies and management of the development staff.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
RESPONSIBLE TO: Vice President of Institutional Advancement
WORKERS SUPERVISED: Corporate & Foundation Relations Manager, Annual Fund and Community Outreach Manager, Development Systems Coordinator, Student Interns, and Volunteers
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least five years experience in all facets of fundraising. A demonstrated record of achievement. CFRE certification is preferred.
ABILITIES NEEDED: Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Professional demeanor and positive outlook. Creative, able to generate ideas and solutions, self-starter. Able to maintain accountability, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and operate independently while functioning as part of a cooperative and coordinated team. Must be responsible, dependable, well-organized, logical, and display high integrity.
