JOB SUMMARY:

 The certified occupational therapy assistant works under the supervision of an occupational therapist to assist with the assessments and provide student treatment programs and family/staff training.  The certified occupational therapy assistant provides services to students following the guidelines of the student’s IEP.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

 RESPONSIBLE TO:   Occupational Therapist, Educational Supervisor, Associate Director of The Day School, Chief School Administrator, in that order.

WORKERS SUPERVISED:  Therapy Aides, PHEAA Students, and Volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:    Associate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.  Current and valid certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred (will require training).

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must be certified and licensed or eligible for certification and licensure in Pennsylvania. Successful completion of a pediatric affiliation or previous experience with a pediatric population is preferred.
