ISAAC 2012 in Pittsburgh!
Monday, Jul 30, 2012
The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh is proud to be a sponsor of this year's Conference of the International Society of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC).
The conference, held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center from July 30 – August 2,
will host more than 1,800 visitors from around the world. Among the attendees will be researchers, clinicians, software developers, engineers, manufacturers, AAC users and family members who will gather together to learn about innovative research, best clinical practices and national and international public policies.
This is the first time the conference had been held in the U.S. since 2000. Pittsburgh joins some amazing ranks as it hosts the ISAAC this year. Recent host cities include Montreal, Barcelona, and Dusseldorf.
We’re excited too to be a part of Autism and Literacy Awareness Day on Tuesday, July 31, when a variety of workshops and poster sessions will be held addressing everything from speech-generating device funding for individuals with autism spectrum disorder to literacy based interventions to peer-mediated instruction.
One-day registration opportunities
are available for parents, caregivers, practitioners and other professionals interested in attending. For more information, click here
