Austin’s Playroom
Open and staffed 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, the playroom provides the perfect atmosphere for therapeutic recreation or developmental play and activities.
Playground
The Robert Bruce Posner Memorial Playground is a high-use area of The Children’s Institute. The Day School’s students, The Hospital’s inpatients, children in for therapeutic treatments and children from the Squirrel Hill neighborhood all enjoy our colorful, interactive and accessible play land.
Sensory Room
Our sensory room is designed to promote intellectual activity and to encourage relaxation.
Pools

Heated to therapeutic temperatures (warmer than traditional swimming pools), our pools are used for recreation and therapy every day.
Inpatient rooms and gyms
Newly renovated rooms and gyms give the children that come to us for treatment the best experience possible.
Outpatient spaces
State of the art treatment equipment allows our therapists to give the best care to children with special needs who come to us for outpatient physical, occupational and speech/language therapies.
