Camp Success

While schools and communities are making progress, there are still very few opportunities for children with disabilities during the summer. Since its inception in 1999, Camp Success has provided summer programming for low-income families who have a child or children with special needs. Often these families struggle to find summer programs for their children because of the barriers created by expense, transportation or exclusion of non-disabled siblings and children with behavioral problems. Camp Success eliminates these barriers, accommodating children ages 6-12 with physical, sensory, emotional, behavioral and cognitive needs and their siblings. For many of our families, Camp Success is the first opportunity for all of their children to participate in the same summer program. The Children’s Institute remains committed to providing Camp Success free of charge to families in need.
