Vice President of Operations
Mr. Bittner is responsible for senior administrative oversight of Project STAR, as well as facility and support services operations, including engineering, maintenance, security, food and nutrition, environmental and housekeeping, laundry, transportation, aquatics and contracted building services. Previously he served as the director of clinical services and director of Project STAR.
Prior to joining The Children’s Institute, Mr. Bittner was a practice manager for Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and he held several managerial positions with St. Francis Central Hospital, including assistant Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Occupational Medicine, Director of Physician Services and Social Worker. In addition, he also served as a Parish Priest in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Bittner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from Gannon University, a Master of Divinity from Mt. Saint Mary’s Seminary and a Master of Public Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
