Mr. Miles has been with The Children’s Institute for more than 30 years and was appointed President and CEO in December 2003. He is responsible for the overall clinical, administrative and financial operations of the organization. Under his leadership, The Children's Institute has achieved operational and financial improvements; completed a $30 million renovation and expansion project; and doubled the number of children and families being served.

Mr. Miles began his career as a master teacher at The Day School, before he transitioned to the healthcare side of the organization, where he held management positions for both inpatient and outpatient services, including Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. With hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of The Children’s Institute’s healthcare and educational programs and services,  Mr. Miles was responsible for the development of many of the organization's services, including the outpatient satellite facilities and the feeding program.

Mr. Miles earned a Master of Public Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Science degree in education, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh.
