Joseph E. Imbriglia, MD

Joseph E. Imbriglia, MD, FACS, a board-certified physician and Chairman of the Board of the Hand and UpperEx Center in Wexford, Pa., accepted the position of Chair of the Board of Directors of The Children's Institute of Pittsburgh in July, 2007. Dr. Imbriglia has been a member of the Board since 1994.

In addition to his practice at the Hand and UpperEx Center, Dr. Imbriglia is the director of the Hand Fellowship Program in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He is on staff at Allegheny General Hospital, UPMC Passavant, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC St. Margaret and UPMC Passavant Cranberry

Dr. Imbriglia is a member of numerous community and professional organizations including Carnegie Museum's Advisory Board, the American Association for Hand Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Association, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.  He's published countless scientific papers, abstracts, chapters and books in his area of expertise and is frequently called upon to present at local, national and international conferences. Dr. Imbriglia frequently has been named among the "Best Doctors in America," and Pittsburgh Magazine has recognized him as one of the "Top Docs" each of the past three years.
