The Nimick Family

September 9, 2010

The million dollar gift that is making the new Therapeutic Garden possible was given by Charles L. H. Nimick, Victoria Nimick Enright and Kit Nimick Carrasco, in honor of their parents mutual passion for The Children’s Institute. Their mother, the late Florence Nimick was a long-time member and two-time president of The Children’s Institute’s Board of Directors. While her husband, the late Thomas Nimick was a member of the Men’s Advisory Board and later a member of the Board of Directors.

Kit Nimick Carrasco says, “The Children’s Institute was very much a part of our lives as we grew up. I remember going there often with my mother for her volunteer work and saying hello to the kids we’d see. Later, my sister and I volundeered at the summer camp, and still later, I often took my own kids to the playground. So helping to make the Therapeutic Garden possible is a wonderful way to honor our parents and do something good for patients and families.”

You, too, can still be part of this amazing addition to The Children’s Institute. There are many features and amenities yet to be named in honor or memory of loved ones. Your support at any level is most welcome and will help to maintain the garden for patients and families for generations to come.
