Family Enrichment Services
Do you offer services to families after they have adopted?
Post-permanency support services are offered to families after an adoption is finalized. These services are open to any family with a legally-adopted child under the age of 18. The child may have been adopted through foster care, privately, through an agency or internationally.
How can I obtain respite services?
To access respite services through Project STAR, families must first call the SWAN Helpline at 1.800.585.7926. When speaking with a SWAN representative, identify Project STAR as your preferred respite care provider. After receiving a referral from SWAN, a Project STAR staff member will contact you.
Do you offer family support groups?
Family support groups meet monthly in locations throughout Beaver County. Meetings typically include potluck meals, guest speakers and group discussions. Childcare is provided during each meeting and training hours are available for families. To receive a schedule of upcoming support group meetings, please contact our Monaca office at 724.775.0209.
Do you charge for these services?
Because of The Children’s Institute’s commitment to meeting the special needs of children and their families, Project STAR does not charge agency fees. We cover these fees out of The Children’s Institute’s operating budget along with reimbursements from state and county agencies, gifts from individuals, and grants from foundations and corporations.
