Commitment to Quality

The Children's Institute is dedicated to promoting the well-being of children, young people and families and to providing services that meet their special needs. Project STAR at The Children’s Institute promotes the right of all children to grow up with a loving, permanent family. We are committed to providing high-quality service to children and families, especially those with physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities.

Project STAR is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare as an adoption, foster care and private children and youth social service agency. We are an affiliate member of the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network (SWAN) and maintain contracts with local, statewide and out-of-state counties in the areas of placement services and family preservation/reunification services.

As part of Project STAR’s Quality Management Program, we send annual satisfaction surveys to clients and referral sources. These surveys are a valuable tool to improving the quality of our services. For more information about Project STAR’s Quality Management Program, please call 412.244.3081.
