Referral Process
Whether you are a physician making a referral to The Hospital at The Children’s Institute or a caregiver looking to receive services for a child, the process is simple.
Inpatient Programs and Services
Physicians or families wanting to learn more about inpatient programs and services should call one of our nurse liaisons at 412.420.2113 or 412.420.2115. They will be happy to answer your questions and guide you through the process.
Outpatient Programs and Services
Patients’ family members or caregivers should obtain a prescription from the referring physician (your primary care physician or a specialist), and then call 412.420.2362 or toll free 1.877.433.1109 to schedule an evaluation. The telephone numbers are the same regardless of the location where you would like for your child to receive services – just let the intake representative know where you prefer for your child to receive his evaluation and ongoing treatment. A scheduler from that location will contact you with the next available evaluation date and time.
