Job Summary

Assumes primary responsibility for casework supervision and delivery of services for Pittsburgh, Allegheny County Intensive Family Support Program.

Job Relationships

Responsible To: Allegheny County Program Manager

Workers Supervised: IFS staff in Allegheny County

COLLABORATIONS: Management Team and other related Project STAR staff


Education: Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related Human Service Field required. Masters preferred.

Licensure: None

Certification: None

Clearances: Act 73 FBI,* Act 34 Criminal Clearance,* Act 33 Child Clearance. For this position clearances must be obtained prior to start date.

**Clearances must be obtained within 30 days of hire in order to continue active employment.

Training and Experience: Minimum of three years experience in Human Services required. Experience working with diverse populations and/or people with disabilities preferred. Supervisory and managerial experience preferred.

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid, current Pennsylvania driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage
• Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually
• Reliable automobile with current Pennsylvania inspection
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job

Job Responsibilities

• Assigns cases and develops schedules and calendars, in cooperation with Allegheny County Program Manager
• Provides casework supervision to assigned staff, including but not limited to case management, review of expenses, logs, accrued time off request and check requests
• Participate in activities related to billing and budget development
• Collaborates with the Allegheny County Program Manager with administrative, operational, and facility issues pertaining to the Allegheny County site.
• Collaborates with Allegheny County Program Manager, Executive Director and HR Department on all aspects of the hiring process including but not limited to posting open positions, screening resumes, interviewing candidates and completing the tasks outlined in the CI hiring procedure to ensure that all steps are completed
• Assist training new staff in the Allegheny office.
• Completes six month and/or annual performance evaluations for direct reports
• Approves timecards
• Attends and contributes to relevant Project STAR staff and team meetings
• Works to maintain professional competency and skills through continuing education and supervision
• Retains all responsibility of a Permanency Specialist III with a limited caseload
• Participates in “on call” rotation
• Assists with coverage of any and all programmatic services that pertain to Project STAR services, which includes but not limited to, Adoption, Foster Care, IFS, Visit Coaching and TTT.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
