Job Summary

The Database Administrator/Applications Integrator works closely with all areas of Information Systems (IS) including the IS team, the end users of IS services throughout The Institute, and with vendors representing the installed information systems applications and equipment. He/she is primarily responsible for designing and developing decision support, web-enabled applications related to the healthcare systems supported by the IS department at CI. This development may be in the form of Oracle development (repository, desktop integration, intranet integration, etc.), applications development (data mining, web-based desktop integration, HL7 interfacing, etc.) and development/design-work associated with application upgrades, conversions and integration projects.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study with 3 to 5 years of experience in healthcare applications decision support design/development and systems integration.

Clearances: Act 73 FBI*Act 34 Criminal Clearance*Act 33 Child Clearance

**Clearances must be obtained within 30 days of hire in order to continue active employment.

Training and Experience: Must have working design and development knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Java, JavaScript, JSON/XML, Oracle 12c/Oracle Forms & Reports and SQL Server 2012/2014; T-SQL, PL/SQL, PERL, HTML, Crystal Reports 11, and Web-based Technologies such as Apache Tomcat 8, Oracle WebLogic 10, and IIS; all in a networked Windows environment. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Job Elements
• Develops, designs, implements and maintains CI system databases related to the CI Repository and EMR-related systems (Soarian, Affinity, AppointmentCS, etc.) in accordance with standard I/S protocols relating to data integrity, security and accessibility
• Identifies, resolves, documents and communicates complex system problems, exercising good judgment in prioritizing problems as they impact the end user
• Leads the design and development for any data conversions and integrations related to the CI Repository & EMR-related systems and/or their associated web-based applications while ensuring that the technological impact and innovations are explored in order to provide the most accurate and efficient operation (i.e., Oracle tools/functions, new software tools, etc.)
• Supports I/S daily, weekly, monthly and yearly operations, including reviewing system logs/reports/displays and policies/procedures to ascertain system problems, maintain system integrity and determine the required actions to be taken in a timely manner
• Corresponds with outside vendors, including initiating and following-through (to the appropriate I/S team members as well as the impacted end-users) on service calls in a timely fashion
• Reviews and stays abreast of current CI computer system capabilities to determine if the requested programs/reports/applications or programmatical changes are possible within existing systems or need to be addressed with new system solutions
• Participates in continuing education to keep current on IT innovations and provides summaries at appropriate internal meetings
• Ensures that standard CI department protocols are accurately and timely followed/completed (i.e., mandatory training sessions, safe work/organizational habits, HIPAA privacy/security regulations, etc.)
