Behavioral Health Nurse I

Provides and supervises delivery of clinical and psychiatric/behavioral nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. Effectively demonstrates patient centered and goal directed nursing care. Applies evidence-based practice in support of quantitative patient outcomes. Demonstrates professional demeanor and strong team participation. Adheres to the mission of the organization and the Prader-Willi Syndrome Program.
Responsible To: Team Leader, Clinical Leader, Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, Chief Nursing Officer
Workers Supervised: Licensed practical nurses, therapeutic support assistants, students and volunteers.
Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure: Current Pennsylvania registered nurse license in good standing.
Clearances: Act 73 FBI * Act 34 Criminal Clearance * Act 33 Child Clearance
**Clearances must be obtained within 30 days of hire in order to continue active employment.
Training and Experience: Minimum of one year psychiatric and/or behavioral health management experience in a behavioral health setting. Additional medical/surgical experience preferred.
Graduate nurses or nurses with less than one year behavioral health experience may be recruited at the discretion of the unit manager with approval by the Chief Nursing Officer.
