Job Summary

The Clinician is responsible for working with clients, their families and other staff for the purpose of providing assessment, treatment and support services while under the supervision of the Senior Behavioral Health Clinician

Qualifications

Education: Master's in Counseling, Social Work or Human Service field Required.

Licensure: LPC and or LCSW required or eligible

Certification: Must be certified or working on certification for PCIT and/or AFCBT

Clearances: Act 73 FBI*Act 34 Criminal Clearance*Act 33 Child Clearance***For this position, clearances must be obtained prior to start date.***

**Clearances must be obtained within 30 days of hire in order to continue active employment.

Training and Experience: Master’s with 5 years Experience working in child welfare field performing Assessments, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Alternatives for Families - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (AF-CBT)
Skills required:
Trained Clinician using Cognitive Behavioral therapies; Experience working with diverse populations; Basic computer skills; Excellent organizational skills; Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; Ability to manage conflict and relate well to individuals with challenging personalities. Ability to relate well to individuals with disabilities; Able to adapt well to schedule changes; Ability to make professional decisions independently in the field

Additional Requirements:
-Valid, current driver's license and personal automobile liability insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit coverage - Approval to verify driving history at the time of authorization and annually; approval to verify insurance coverage at the time of authorization and semi-annually - Reliable automobile with current inspection - Vehicle Registration Card - Ability to meet physical and mental requirements of the job

Job Responsibilities

•Completes Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) assessments, on Children’s Bureau Families referred to Project STAR, incorporating document reviews, interviews, observations and formal assessment measures, as clinically indicated. Incorporates community providers when appropriate. Communicates findings and treatment recommendations to the family and treatment team, as clinically indicated.
•Efficiently manages assigned caseload and productivity requirements and delivers clinically appropriate services. Services might include assessments, evaluations, individual therapy, group therapy, caregiver education. Completes treatment plans if relevant.
•Collaborates with Project STAR case workers and County case workers
•Documentation, including assessments, progress notes, staffing notes, billing and logs, Completion of discharge summaries and is clinically relevant and completed according to policy guidelines.
•Prepares caregiver and any involved community providers for discharge by providing behavioral education, individualized discharge recommendations, making indicated referrals, providing written handouts and documenting information within policy guidelines.
•Consistently attends staffing and treatment meetings on assigned families. Weekly logs completed in a timely manner.
•Attends department meetings, supervision meetings, committee meetings and assigned trainings.
•Develops and implements service plans that reflect the unique needs of all assigned clients in collaboration with clients, referral sources, and judicial guidelines
•Assesses client needs using formal and informal evaluations, referral source recommendations, and client preferences
•Transports clients to visits, medical appointments, hearings and other appointments as needed
•Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with referral sources and other social service agencies
