Amazing Bike Camp
The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh and iCanShine, Inc. (formerly Lose the Training Wheels) partner each summer to offer a unique camp that teaches children with special needs how to ride a two-wheeled bicycle without training wheels.
During this week long camp, children use adaptive bicycles to gain understanding and confidence in riding.
As each camper progresses, modifications are made to the bicycles increasing their level of independence. The Amazing Bike Camp is for children ages 8 and older. (Other participant requirements will be available in the application for 2017 Amazing Bike Camp.)
2016 Bike Camp
2016 Amazing Bike Camp took place July 25-29, 2016 at Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, PA. 21 participants successfully completed the full week of camp, advancing their skills in bike riding. Congratulations on their success! A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for all of their hard work and dedication to working with our participants. Camp would not be possible without the time and energy our volunteers put into working with our kids.
